Autumn Lights 2019 in Juelich – every autumn a special sight at the the Juelich Brueckenkopf Park
Anzeige*
Every autumn, when the days get dark and the weather ugly, the Brueckenkopf park in my home town Juelich celebrates “autumn lights”. For three weeks, usually end of October till mid of November (this year, 2019 from 28.10. – 10.11.), many fascinating light installations illuminate the trees and the old fortresses of the park.
Alleys
There are different kinds of alleys. Like this tree alley:
The entire park glows in red, blue, green and many other colors:
And here’s an other sort of alley: an alley of construction workers:
And here an “alley of light globes”
And an “alley of eyes”:
And an “alley of penguins”:
Fortress Walls
In between you’ll find nicely illuminated trees and fortress walls, like these:
Along and above the bridges and ways there are flying objects…
messages like these (may…must…should…)
footsteps on the water…
Other strange objects
One of the major attractions every year is a thin water spray, illuminated from the back, thus serving as a kind of screen and displaying threedimensional objects:
threedimensional images on a water spray
And deep in the woods, there are strange animals:
Like the insect above, or these fish on the ground:
Or another alley, this time of faces:
And yet another alley, of fabrics:
Inside the Fortress
The fortresses of the Brueckenkopf Park, dating back to the times of Napoleon (i.e. more than 200 years), offer great screens for any kinds of light installations.
Like images on the walls:
Or this “alley of the rich and famous”:
Some installations exhibit interesting features, like these “virtual flying lines”:
And here they are moving:
Every nook and cranny is being used for another interesting object:
And sometimes it even gets a little bit creepy…like this eye which moves around on the wall:
A man made of glass, from different persepctives:
And many more fascitaning perpectives:
Trees – used as a screen
Outside, the trees are also used as screens:
And this even works with movies:
Overall, is is really a show and worth a visit! Just look at these glittering beehives, small light dots simulating the bees, or these blue sticks in the wood:
And again, the very impressive installation using a tree as screen:
And sometimes for interesting shadow games – the shadow on the wall: that’s me.
Greetings from Juelich!
